Michael Ashkin - Chairman

Michael Ashkin is the second generation of the Ashkin family to own and operate Darby Group Companies since the company's inception in 1948. He has been with Darby since 1963, and has been the Chairman since 1993. Mr. Ashkin also served as CEO of Rugby Laboratories, the largest generic pharmaceutical company in the US before being sold to Marion Merrell Dow in 1993. He founded the Generic Pharmaceutical Industry Association (GPIA) in 1981 and was instrumental in the passage of key legislation, including the Waxman-Hatch Generic Drug Bill and the Orphan Drug Bill. Michael Ashkin is father to Carl Ashkin, CEO of Darby Group Companies.

Carl Ashkin - CEO

Carl Ashkin has served as Darby Group Companies' Chief Executive Officer since 1997. From 1984, when he started with Darby, Mr. Ashkin rose through the company, working in Purchasing, Sales and Operations before assuming the position of President for the Medical and Dental divisions, a position he held from 1994-1997. Carl Ashkin is the third generation of the Ashkin Family to operate Darby Group Companies, and has been a driving force in keeping the company at the forefront of emerging technologies.

Mike Caputo - President

Mike Caputo has been the President of Darby Group Companies since 1997, taking on the position after serving for four years as the Executive Vice President of Administration. Mike Caputo has been a constant figure in Darby's growth and success since he began his career with the company in 1973 as a Director of Human Resources. Prior to Darby, Mr. Caputo served in the United States Army, where he was awarded a Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam.

Justina Gordon - CPA, Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration, Chief Financial Officer

Justina Gordon started with Darby Group Companies, Inc., in 1981. She became the company's Chief Financial Officer in 1996 and Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration in 2000. Prior to her employment with Darby, she worked for almost four years in public accounting with the firm that is currently known as KPM&G. Justina graduated from the School of Professional Accountancy, C.W. Post College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1978. Justina is a Certified Public Accountant and belongs to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the NYS Society of Certified Public Accountants.
